FAQs

Can I use my insurance?

Absolutely! Our clinics are covered by almost all health benefits programs and insurance companies.

What shoulder I wear when I come to visit?

This will vary depending on the location of the area being treated, but typically ‘athletic wear’ is the most appropriate. Athletic wear includes a sports bra or tank top, and shorts. This will give you the ability to move through different movements during the assessment and exercise component of your treatment. This will also allow all types of clinicians to access different parts of your body when they do their treatments.

Can I book multiple appointments in advance?

Yes! Booking multiple appointments in advance is a great way to ‘reserve’ your preferred time slot, especially if you have a busy schedule. Following the initial assessment, your therapist will recommend a total number of visits required and the frequency of visits needed to recover from your injury. Many of our patients like to book their appointments 1 to 2 months in advance.

Do I have to be an ‘athlete’ to benefit from your care?

In short, NO! Many of our patients are what we classify as ‘recreational athletes’ and ‘general population’. These categories includes your average office worker, mom, dad, or service worker that enjoys being active on the weekends or evenings. While our clinic specializes in athletes, this is not a requirement to come visit us and benefit from our care.

Is it common to pay out of pocket?

Certainly! Our patients believe in pursuing health and fitness goals with us after their insurance coverage has been depleted. Similar to buying personal training sessions or going to the salon, paying out of pocket is a common practice to give you the expertise and service you need to succeed.

How many follow up appointments are needed for me?

Generally speaking anywhere between 6-12 visits is required to recover from your injury. These visits might occur multiple times per week or just a few times per month depending on clinical findings and diagnosis.

Can I come for a visit even if I don’t have pain?

Of course! Once you are out of pain, or if you never had pain, you can come in to see one of our qualified professionals. Many of our patients visit us because our clinic focuses on performance therapy and health maintenance. Performance therapy involves being prescribed an exercise program that not only helps you to reach your health & fitness goals, but to do so while preventing injuries. Health maintenance is the use of manual therapy to help your muscles and joints feel relaxed & loose to help you feel at your best always.

Do chiropractors just ‘crack backs’?

Chiropractic manipulation is one tool in the tool box used to get my patients better. It is among other treatment methods that include exercise therapy, acupuncture, joint mobilization, vibration therapy, and soft tissue massage therapy. In our treatment session, we will be using the most appropriate combination of aforementioned treatments to get you & your body moving again.

What is the popping / cracking sound when I get ‘adjusted’?

The noise you hear with spinal manipulation is called a Cavitation. This is an audible “pop” noise that is a result of released pressurized gas from the joint.
