    Your naturopath may use special testing to diagnose or rule out conditions. Routine bloodwork may be used to assess for nutrient deficiencies (vitamins and minerals), serum hormones (sex and thyroid hormones), metabolic testing (cholesterol levels, blood sugars) and inflammatory markers (CRP, etc). Food sensitivity testing, urinary assessment, and heavy metal testing may also be used by your naturopath for targeted care.

  • While not a medical doctor or a PhD, naturopaths are considered doctors much in the same fashion as your dentist, chiropractor, or optometrist. In Ontario, it is required to complete a Doctor of Naturopathy degree in order to use this title.
