Upper Trapezius PNF Stretch

PNF UPPER TRAPEZIUS STRETCH

This is a proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretch for the upper trapezius muscle. Start by placing your hand on the opposite side of your head and pulling the head into a light stretch. Hold the light stretch for 7 seconds. Then, without moving your hand or head, push your head into your hand for an isometric contraction of the upper trapezius. Hold the isometric contraction for 5-7 seconds then relax. Once again pull the head with your hand into a light stretch. Repeat for up to 5 repetitions or until the desired range is met.
